Register for busing online!
All busing registrations must be completed online. The online registration link is located at the bottom of this page. As our buses fill up quickly please be sure that the online registration form is completed by June 15, 2016. Urban busing seats are available on a first-come, first served basis - there is a transportation fee for students who live less than 2.4 km's from their school. Late registrations will be put on a waiting list. Failure to provide complete and accurate address will result in a delay.
Applicants require a parent or family email address to apply online. Applicants without access to a computer are encouraged to use technology resources at their local school or public library to apply online. Please note: The form must be done on a laptop or desktop computer - mobile devices such as phones or tablets will not work. Please contact the Transportation Services Department if you are experiencing issues with the registration form.
Rural students only should only register if they are new to or have moved within WCPS or the school divisions that WCPS has busing arrangements with (i.e. Star Catholic Schools etc.). There is no charge for rural students living 2.4 kilometers from their school. Rural parents must provide us with their legal land description and blue sign (911) address.
All Urban (Lacombe, Blackfalds & Ponoka) students MUST re-register each year - students will not be able to ride until the application has been approved and paid for busing or payment arrangements have been made. All addresses are checked and verified. There is a transportation fee for town students who live less than 2.4 kilometers from their school.* Approval and fee information will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the online registration form.
Approved urban students will be sent payments instructions to make payments online using Visa, MasterCard or e-Cheque. An online payment plan of up to three (3) equal payments is available by credit card or e-Cheque only. (An example of payment dates are August 1st, September 1st and October 1st). The payment plan option is only available at the beginning of the school year and will not be offered after October 1st. Online payments are to be made once the bus registration is approved by the Transportation Services Department and you have received an email link from the Transportation Office with instruction for making payment Payments will not be accepted until the registration is approved!**
Currently, user pay transportation rates for the 2016-2017 school year have not been set by the school board. 2015-2016 rates are listed below and will be updated when available.
2015 – 2016 User Pay Transportation Rates:
|Kindergarten Students: $237.50 / student|
|Grades 1 to 12: $475.00 / per student|
|Family Maximum: $950.00 (3 or more students)|
*Urban residences over 2.4 km from school will not be charged the transportation fee (distances are calculated by a routing system and guidelines set by Alberta Education).All urban students must re-register each and every year.
