WCPS Student Leadership Conference Focuses on Healthy Learning Environments

On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, over 120 Wolf Creek Public Schools students and educators gathered at the Gull Lake Centre for the annual Wolf Creek Student Leadership Conference.

“The Student Leadership Conference is a place for students and staff to learn about creating healthy learning environments in their schools,” said Kim McLean, Family School Liaison Worker at the Ponoka Alternative Supports School and conference organizer. “This year the conference focused on empowering students to reduce environmental stress at their schools in three main areas: healthy eating, active living, and positive social supports. The students learned new ways to enhance these three pillars and also had the opportunity to showcase what they are already doing to promote each of the pillars at their schools.”
