Buses are Ready to Roll for 2025 in Wolf Creek Public Schools

The wheels on the bus are ready to roll at WCPS!
This past Monday, our Transportation Department hosted the annual Bus Driver Start-Up Meeting — a chance to welcome new drivers, reconnect with returning ones, and review important safety and operational updates as we prepare for the 2025/26 school year.
Did you know? WCPS runs 92 bus routes every morning and afternoon, safely transporting nearly 4,000 students and covering about 5,000 km each day. That adds up to more than 850,000 km every year — all thanks to our dedicated team of drivers.
A Reminder for Motorists
-
Flashing Amber Lights: Never pass a school bus when the amber lights are flashing. This means the bus is slowing down and preparing to stop.
-
Flashing Red Lights & Stop Arm: When the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is out, traffic in both directions must stop. Students may be crossing the road, and it’s the law to give them a safe path.
-
Yellow Hazard Lights: Some buses also use four-way flashers when pulled over — always slow down and pass with caution.
A big thank-you to our incredible bus drivers who make student safety their top priority every single day. Here’s to a safe and successful year ahead!
