Bentley School Celebrates the Class of 2025 and ‘The Next Chapter’

Bentley School celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2025 on June 7, honouring 26 students who now turn the page into what they’ve named their next chapter.

The theme for this year’s graduation, The Next Chapter, resonated throughout the ceremony and speeches as graduates, staff, families, and community members reflected on the growth, challenges, and shared moments that defined the graduates’ time at Bentley.

“You’ve honed your skills, built lasting friendships, and faced challenges head-on,” said Wolf Creek Public Schools Trustee Trudy Bratland. “Now it’s time to take those experiences and use them as you head into your new ‘normal’—your lives as adults on your chosen future paths.”

Assistant Principal Stephen Lush, who introduced graduates and presented several of the evening’s awards, said the class of 2025 will be remembered not just for what they achieved, but how they carried themselves through it.

“This group really leaned into leadership, into culture, and into connection,” said Lush. “They supported each other, they represented Bentley well, and they contributed to a positive tone in the building. It’s a group that leaves behind more than just a grad photo—they leave behind a legacy of character.”

The day featured a full program of student speeches, toasts, awards and messages from dignitaries, including MLA Jason Nixon and Town of Bentley Mayor Greg Rathjen. Valedictorian Artur Lisneac spoke on behalf of the graduating class, and a message from Wolf Creek leadership was delivered by Assistant Superintendent Sonja Dykslag.

Dykslag said the Bentley ceremony was a strong reflection of what graduation is meant to represent.

“It was a meaningful celebration for a group of students who have clearly grown into capable, grounded young people,” said Dykslag. “They showed resilience, maturity, and heart throughout their high school years, and it was clear from the program and the tone in the room that they’re ready for what comes next.”

In her remarks, Bratland acknowledged the teamwork behind each student’s success.

“The diploma you receive today will open many doors,” she said. “But it also reflects the support of families, friends, teachers, and community—all of whom helped you get here. All of Wolf Creek is proud of you.”
