Wolf Creek Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Richter as the new Assistant Principal of École Lacombe Junior High School (ÉLJHS).
Richter, who has been Acting Assistant Principal since February 2024, brings a strong blend of classroom experience, instructional leadership, and community involvement to her new permanent role. Over the past year, she has made a significant impact at ÉLJHS, leading key school initiatives, supporting staff, guiding student transitions, and collaborating with both families and community partners. Her leadership has included managing student programming, organizing school-wide events such as the Academic Awards and Remembrance Day ceremonies, coordinating safety efforts with the Lacombe Police, and contributing to teacher and staff evaluations.
“Amy has demonstrated tremendous leadership throughout her time as Acting Assistant Principal,” said Sonja Dykslag, Assistant Superintendent of People Services. “Her dedication to inclusive education, deep understanding of school operations, and ability to foster positive relationships make her an excellent fit for the permanent position.”
Richter holds a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. She has taught a wide range of subjects at ÉLJHS since 2007 and has been a committed leader within the school community, including serving as president of the Lacombe Minor Hockey Association and contributing to numerous school and district-level committees.
“I’m excited to continue in my role at ELJHS,” said Richter. “I have been proud to call Ecole Lacombe Junior High my home for the past 18 years and look forward to continuing to support our amazing staff, students, and community in this capacity and model the leadership we hope to see in our students."
