Wolf Creek Scholarships

Students are responsible for verifying scholarship deadline dates.

ATA SCHOLARSHIPS - 1 @ $400

Wolf Creek Local Alberta Teachers’ Association offers one award to a student who is pursuing post-secondary education. Preference is given to a student entering the Faculty of Education.  Applications are available at your school.  LCHS application available HERE. Deadline June 1st.

ELLIS BIRD FARM ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD - $1,000

This award is available to a deserving student in order to recognize genuine interest, to encourage appreciation and to facilitate further study in the areas of conservation and the environment. Completed applications must be submitted to the school counselor by May 31st.  Application available at the LCHS Career Centre or at: https://www.wolfcreek.ab.ca/download/388976. Please submit applications to the Career Centre.

RUTH SHEAD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500

Must have been a student in the Wolf Creek School Division and be planning to go on to post secondary school (college, university, trade school). Must have Canadian Indigenous Status in accordance with the federal laws of Canada. Further details can be found here. Deadline April 30, 2024.

SUNNY 94 SCHOLARSHIP - $222 - $2,000

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an active commitment to Music, Journalism or Broadcast programming. The Sunny 94 Scholarship must contribute to the support, promotion, training and development of Canadian musical and spoken word talent.  To qualify, students receiving scholarships will pursue education in music programs and/or broadcasting programs.  Deadline to Division Office is May 13, 2024.  LCHS student deadline to the Career Centre is May 9, 2024.   Application available here.  

WOLF CREEK PUBLIC SCHOOLS SCHOLARSHIPS - $300

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of contribution to school affairs, personal attributes and community involvement. Students who are eligible for the Rutherford Scholarship in grade 12 are not eligible to apply. To receive the scholarship, the student must enroll at a post-secondary educational institution within 12 months of receiving the scholarship (payable upon receipt of enrolment). Scholarships will be available in each division high school as follows:

Bentley  2 available
Eckville  2 available
Lacombe  6 available
Ponoka  6 available
Rimbey  2 available

WOLF CREEK PUBLIC SCHOOLS CTS SCHOLARSHIP  - $300

Awarded to a student who takes a significant amount of his/her program in CTS, RAP or Green Certificate. To receive the scholarship, the student must enroll at a post-secondary educational institution within 12 months of receiving the scholarship (payable upon receipt of enrolment).  The student should be enrolled in a program related to their CTS studies.  Scholarships will be available in each division high school as follows:

Lacombe 1 @ $300
Ponoka 1 @ $300
Rimbey 1 @ $300
