National Indigenous Peoples Day

National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21st. Join us in celebrating and learning more about Indigenous heritage and culture.

Our  main focus this year is around the medicine wheel, and honouring each of the four quadrants —Physical, Emotional, Spiritual and Mental.

The Medicine Wheel models interconnectedness and a holistic approach to understanding.

Students and staff will learn through a variety of activities, including: Pow wow videos and sweats, stories and art, and ceremony and talking circles.

You can use the following resources and events to learn more:

University of Alberta - Indigenous Canada Course

Augustana Campus (UofA) Indigenous Speakers Series - Richard van Camp - June 21st!
