Crestomere — Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jay Adamson as the principal of Crestomere School.

Mr. Adamson has been the acting principal of Crestomere School since 2021, and has been with Wolf Creek since 2013.

“Jay has shown exceptional leadership, which has been proven throughout his tenure as acting principal in Crestomere. We know that he will continue to shape the school in a strong direction that will benefit staff and students and strengthen relationships with the school community,” said Sonja Dykslag, assistant superintendent of people services.

Adamson is excited to continue on in the capacity of principal at Crestomere School.

“Crestomere is a great community school,” said Adamson. “The staff, students and parents work collaboratively together to provide a variety of learning opportunities for the students. I look forward to being able to continue to build strong relationships in the community and to be able to continue to provide diverse and meaningful learning for all students.”

Mr. Adamson holds a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Physical Education (2007) from the University of Alberta and a Masters In Teaching & Learning (2016) from Wilkes University. Prior to being acting principal at Crestomere School, Mr. Adamson served in the position of assistant principal at École Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School.

Mr. Adamson is replacing Mrs. Penny Neufeld who was a long serving principal of Crestomere School. Mrs. Neufeld will continue to be a part of the Wolf Creek Public Schools’ team and looks forward to the new opportunities that lie ahead. We thank Mrs. Neufeld for her leadership of Crestomere School.

“To my Crestomere family, I express my deepest gratitude for the time together,” she said, adding she is thankful for the time she had to learn with and from everyone in the school community. She thanks everyone for the fond memories, the laughter, for working together to overcome challenges and for celebrating the many triumphs. Mrs. Neufeld cherishes the relationships that were made and looks forward to paths crossing again in the future.
